Launch Day — the alpha version is here! The reset is in place, things you should know!

The big day has finally arrived!

We are proud to present the alpha version. When I say "we", you should know that it is only ME, the admin, and my faithful AI. YES, this is vibe_coding@work, and it has been since day one. In fact, this is an ongoing experiment launched years ago, when vibe coding was just a whisper. Can someone build a modern application from start to finish without writing a single line of code? The answer is YES, anyone can — but most will stumble upon many problems, technical ones, but that is really another story.

So here we are, celebrating launch day.

With such a helpful hand, it comes naturally to aim for a perfect launch. Therefore, a few things you should know. This project is entirely FREE of charge, because it was built free of charge. This is INTENTIONAL: no credit card involved, no money, no subscription, 100% solar energy used, 15-year-old laptops repurposed, everything was built on the free tier — even the hosting is shared. Speaking of hosting, you probably know that this is the one cost you cannot escape. So it is the most stressful matter at hand for me. I could build an entirely different architecture, but the server cost obliges me to sacrifice greatness in favor of simplicity, intelligent design and clever scalability. So the first important thing you should know is: the server LIVES in a 5-minute window — it is not real time! Real-time servers sometimes cost hundreds of thousands of $$$, money I don't have — I'm just a father of two small kids that I rarely see, and that should tell you everything about the struggle!

The token distribution

The next chapter of our incursion is probably the part you care about most: the distribution of TOKENS! I just minted 20 promotional codes that will be distributed among friends and people who really care about a free and anonymous system. 10 codes will be 1k/1k/1k and serve one purpose: spending feeds the treasury reserves — it is not very nice to start an economy without money in the bank. The other promotional codes will be 100/100/100 and will be distributed for free on the forum, the Discord channel, the WhatsApp channel, etc. The logic is simple: nobody should gain an advantage at the start. Nevertheless, this is more a test than a solid thing — it serves one purpose: a working logic for the next reset. I do not intend many resets, but there will surely be one at version 1.0. So this is the SECOND thing you should know: everything we do here is not written in stone — it is merely a test for future developments, so act accordingly.

The MMORPG situation

Now the gaming part — the items — the part I like most. And I have a confession to make: I did cheat! But in my defense, I did it for you! Yes, the game is hard without items — you can surely earn tokens easily and change visibility, but if items never drop, then you simply cannot enjoy the game. So I somehow have to "mint" some items in the fairest way possible for everyone. I have two solutions: bots playing the game and selling everything they get on the auction house so you can buy it — and the second one, my favorite, me alone on the map fighting the WORLD BOSS without a single marker on the map. Naturally, I chose the latter, but only for testing purposes, to test the drop chance — and of course all items will go to the marketplace at reasonable prices, so that you ALL have multiple chances to get one. However, I cannot control WHAT drops, so it is what it is, and that is the beauty of it. When more people come, there will be more kills and more items — only the start is hard.

Final thoughts

Everything else works like a charm. Of course, many things will go wild — many will complain about the 5-minute lag, bugs, poor balance, etc. Know that I am here to measure all of that, so every mistake is a step forward — it is in the design itself, nothing is wasted.
